No Refund after appointment cancelled

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • Appointment canceled; no refund after two weeks.
  • Refund of $99.95 requested; claimed someone else booked.

Made a one-off appointment for a prescription. Not a subscription service.

Appointment was cancelled by updoc.

Have tried for 2 weeks to be refunded stating someone else made appointment on my behalf and I should ring bank to cancel my card.

Its a scam. And very frustrating listening to liars make excuses with you $99.95 they knowingly need to refund by Australia consumer laws.

User's recommendation: Never

Email clickbait

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • Marketing email offered 20% off.
  • Link charged $31.96 to my stored card.
  • No cost summary or confirmation.
  • Three emails ignored; bank dispute.

I received a marketing email offering a 20% discount. When I clicked the link, the merchant used my previously stored card details to process an instant charge of $31.96 without providing a summary of the costs or a final confirmation button.

I immediately contacted them via email. With no response, I emailed 5 days later and 1 week later. The merchant has failed to respond to any of my three emails or provide a refund for this unauthorized transaction.

I am disputing with the bank. It's sneaky marketing, bordering on illegal behavior according to ACCC guidelines.

Terrible experience - they scam you

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • Charged a monthly subscription after a one-time payment with no clear notice.
  • Refund was refused and a discount code offered; support was unhelpful.

Absolutely terrible experience. This company scammed me. I paid for what I believed was a one-time document, and UpDoc never clearly told me they would automatically charge me a monthly subscription afterward. I only found out when money was taken from my account without my consent.

When I contacted customer service to request a refund, they refused to return my money and instead tried to offer me a discount code, which is completely useless to me since I'm no longer even in the country and will never use their service again.

Customer support has been non-responsive and unhelpful; they keep sending the same copy-and-paste email over and over, without actually reading or understanding my situation. There is no real effort to help, just excuses.

This feels incredibly dishonest and misleading. I will never use UpDoc again and will warn everyone I know to stay away. If you're thinking of using this service, be careful; they take your money and don't give it back.

Stay Away From Them!

Updated by user Dec 20, 2025

Terrible terrible experience would never trust them again never.

Original review Dec 19, 2025

I had a consultation with Updoc and was charged for a consultation regarding an urgent prescription which I did not receive. The call took 20 minutes of my time and following that my money as well.

I will not be scammed this way by anyone.

I demand an explanation and a refund immediately or I will be forced to escalate the matter to the ACCC and the Office of Fair Trading. Updoc now has 48 hours to respond before I act; this is a formal warning.

Pros:
  • No pros
Cons:
  • Many cons

Preferred solution: Full refund

User's recommendation: Steer clear you pay before consultation the call back took 2 hours when they said less than half an hour then l wasted 20 minutes talking to someone who then failed to send me the urgent prescription but sent me a secondary one which cannot be opened anyway so as far as I’m concerned they’re scammers.

Organized a consult over the phone for a sciatica nerve pain that was very painful. The medication I was taking wasn't working very well because the pain was and is too strong.

Prescription not accessible

AI Highlights
  • Pharmacist couldn't download my prescription.
  • I've had no access after many emails and calls.
  • Voicemail says to email and there is no response.

I was provided with a prescription that my pharmacist was not able to download. Despite multiple email and attempt to contact them by phone (just to be answered by a voice mail asking me to send an email) I am still with no access to my prescription and no way to contact them!

Updoc if you read this, contact me (Imane Sophie) or just send me the prescription or to my pharmacist directly (I sent you their email).

User's recommendation: When faced with an issue, do not count on them!

*** customer support, overcharge and doesn't let me use my benefits

AI Highlights
  • Charges were inconsistent: $49.95 one month, $39.95 other months.
  • Recent double charge of $39.95 within three days; support offered no help.

I've been using Updoc for a while now because I have chronic back pain. So resting is crucial and doesn't make it necessary for me to see a GP in person as they can't do much.

But Updoc charges so dodgey and inconsistently! For one month I was charged $49.95 for a $39.95 plan. And the rest of the months I was charged $39.95... but recently this month, I got doubled charged $39.95 and it was only three days apart.

I emailed customer support and they just sent me a link to the help forms on their website...

which did not apply to my scenario as I was update to dates with all my payments.

I reply to the email saying what they sent me didn't actually help and haven't heard back since. I paid $80 for the month of November and I don't have coverage with Updoc for unlimited medical certificates for the remainder of the month.

User's recommendation: Would not recommend, they are too inconsistent. There are plenty of alternatives
